About The Project

WHAT IS A CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PLAN

The Town of Fairfield’s Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) will be a planning tool used to identify future timing of capital needs, estimated capital costs, and sources of funding.

Topics included in the plan will include the water system, sewer system, streets, stormwater, parks and recreational facilities, Town buildings, and equipment such as vehicles, large equipment, along with computers and software.

A CIP is meant to serve as a planning and budgeting tool for the Town. It should be updated annually and completely revised on a five (5) year basis as the Town’s needs change. If a CIP is used correctly by the Town Council the plan will identify projects, evaluate them and provide cost estimating, and financing ideas for each project.
